UPDATE: I realize I kinda slacked off on the original version so I cleaned it up in parts, changed some of the color toning and added a couple different color effects to enhance the picture.This is the modernization of a character I made back in 2008, he traded out a crappy simple design and hammer and stupid stereotypical OP earth manipulation powers for more detail, a pike, and just straight up badassitude.Name: Xabat

Personality: Rough, old-world, a bit jolly, and an enjoyer of the "occasional" booze.
Short Backstory:
Xabat was a high ranking soldier and someone that almost all the soldiers looked up to, he served the king and queen without question and with his aide, the empire grew to a great size. Well once again the empire wanted to expand so it targeted a region under the control of then "lowly" hedgehogs and other assorted species, and the echidnas thought the land to be fertile e.t.c. so they launched a campaign for it under the same false pretense as before, stage an attack and then re assault. A war starts and it's gritty as all wars are, Xabat is the first to break into the inner sanctum and he encounters an old mage who leads him (via chase) into the wilderness, and Xabat is able to take him by surprise and strike him down. But in an almost "F you sort of way" the mage talks down to him..
"In your quest for power none of you are aware of the power with which you are already bestowed, your empire is greedy.. and greed will be its downfall.. it may not be today, nor tomorrow, but the end of your reign of terror will come. And I ask you now before you realize later... was it really worth it, or did greed bring you down, like it always brings down the greedy. You won't be here to see your fate, merely to reflect...... You will know soon enough, your fate is already sealed."
He uses the last of his magic to throw Xabat through time and space (whats going on in the picture). The loss of the military leader was a morale loss for the echidna empire which is eventually pushed back, and consecutive losses lead to the present day rarity of them. He pops out of a time wormhole (face first and ungracefully) in the present day unaware of where he is and basically stumbles through a modern day world that he doesn't have a place in, eventually realizing how rare his breed has become and even discovering the loss of his empire and the fact that he and his comrades were duped. Learning the tyranny of those who once led him.--
Xabat is a bit of a living Sherman Tank, he can take a lot of hits, he can deal out a good amount of damage but he's not very fast, decent quickness within a short area but as far as speed goes he does lack.
I wanted to add a bit of a simple background to the picture for lighting purposes and such so I did, it is him just before being teleported through time by the mage.
